Waxing can make you feel comfortable, beautiful, and ready to take on anything! To ensure the best possible experience, it’s important to take care of your skin before and after waxing.
A few days before your waxing session, make sure you’re drinking enough water. It’s good to always be hydrated, but it’s extra-helpful for waxing. Thank us later. Getting your eight glasses a day helps your skin stay plump and relaxed. When waxing with waxup, you’ll help the wax adhere to the skin better. This means you’ll get more of the hair the first time and you’ll experience less pain during and afterwards.
Right before you wax, make sure your skin is clean. Apply our Marigold Pre-Wax Lotion with a cotton ball to remove any cream or oil residue on your skin. This step helps the wax adhere to the hair. Move on to waxing only when your skin is completely dry.
A day or two before you wax, you can gently exfoliate the skin and apply the pre-wax lotion to remove dead skin cells and help you get the great results you deserve.
After you wax, enjoy that fresh feeling. To remove any leftover wax or stickiness, add a few drops of our Almond Wax Remover Oil to a cotton ball and rub your skin until all residue is gone. In the process, you might over-oil yourself (the almond scent is amazing, we’re obsessed), and you can remove the excess with a paper towel.
To further soothe and moisturize the skin after you’ve removed leftover wax, rub our Aloe Vera Post-Waxing Gel on your waxed areas until your skin fully absorbs it. This will leave your skin nice and calm.
The day after waxing, loose-fitting clothes can help reduce or avoid skin irritation. It’s also a good idea to avoid sweating too much in the 24 hours after waxing.
